In June of 2005, my son had started a year of auto tech school at Universal Technical Institute.  To reinforce his learning, we decided a “project car” would be a good investment.  So the search began.

From the beginning, I was looking for something from the 50’s.  My first driving experience was with an early 50’s Chevy, six cylinder, 3 on the tree.  But most of what we found was far from our price range or way beyond our level of mechanical abilities.  Then while searching on Ebay, a 1949 Chevy showed up which was close to where we live so we could go check it out.
